You might want to take a look at The Praxis which has been implemented as a spinoff project from Zero State with just this intention:

Interesting idea as long as two potential problems will be avoided:
1. to resurrect those who want to remain dead (will we need to introduce something like a dying - as opposed to living - will ? Opt in or out by default ?)
2. to end up in some kind of new age community where they wile away the days chanting, dancing and praying (argh) until the singularity (which will predate resurrection tech) hits or death fast forwards them to eternity, whichever comes first.

Well, anyone who joins the Praxis or similar group is automatically opting into resurrection. Anyone who wants to opt out can say so, and if they do so publicly eg here, the record will probably remain available beyond the Singularity. Unless we are already in a resurrection simulation, in which case we already know the answer!
Anyway, there is a middle ground of all those who die without knowing these options. What to do with past atheists or believers? A good question with no easy answer. So maybe we should let them answer when the time comes.
As for the second question, I don’t think this theology will make much of a difference to the way most people live their lives, except maybe to make them nicer people.
