It seems like every other month there is a new device on the market, promising to streamline communication and make daily tasks easier than ever before. But how many of these will truly change the way we live our lives? While plenty of technology trends fade away as fast as they appear, others have proven themselves to be integral to our daily lives. One of these important and life-altering innovations is smart home technology.

Smart home technology got its start with the introduction of smart speakers and assistants, offering a hands-free way to set timers, search for things online and even reorder your favorite necessities. And as more players entered the space (Google, Amazon, Apple, etc) the smart home technology field began to expand.

Now, years after smart assistants became a huge hit, it’s hard not to find a home that doesn’t have at least one smart home device inside. And the technology has progressed as well, becoming fully integrated into new builds and coming standard with new appliance purchases. So now if a homeowner wants to make their homes cleaner, smarter and autonomous, they have plenty of options.
